Product details

Dr. Fixit 301 Pidicrete URP is an SBR latex polymer used with cement-based repair and waterproofing mixes. It is intended to improve the bond between old and new concrete or plaster and to enhance the strength and water resistance of correctly proportioned repair mortar, screeds and patching mixes. Typical applications include concrete repairs, polymer-modified mortar, bonding coats, water-resistant plaster and floor screed work. This 5 kg pack is suitable for professional repair and renovation jobs. Prepare the substrate and use the product only in the mixing ratio and method specified by Dr. Fixit for the intended application.

FAQs

1. Do I have to buy a full truckload?

No. Single bags are listed, and multiple-bag listings exist separately for site quantities. Larger requirements are best placed through RFQ so delivery can be scheduled against the pour date, with GST invoicing and mobCredit terms available to contractors.

2. What makes concrete crack after it has set?

Most commonly inadequate curing, followed by too much water in the mix and restraint at the edges. All three are decisions taken on site rather than properties of the cement, which is why supervision during the pour and the following fortnight matters more than the brand.

3. How should cement be mixed on site?

To the engineer's specified proportions, with clean water and suitable aggregates, and mixed thoroughly enough that colour is uniform. Adding water beyond the specified ratio to improve workability is the single most common way that site-mixed concrete loses strength.

4. PPC or OPC - which should I use?

It depends on the specification and the job. Ordinary cement gains strength faster, suiting precast and tight cycles. Blended cement works more cohesively, bleeds less and continues gaining strength with extended curing, suiting general concrete, masonry and plaster. Where an engineer has specified one, do not substitute.

5. How long should concrete be cured?

Blended cements need longer than ordinary cement, because strength develops progressively and that reaction needs moisture over an extended period. Continuous wet curing for ten to fourteen days is the practical benchmark. A slab that dries out early does not recover the strength it lost.

6. How many bags per cubic metre of concrete?

It depends entirely on the mix design and grade specified, and nominal mixes and design mixes give different figures for the same volume. Ask for the engineer's approved mix design rather than working from a generic ratio that somebody remembers from another site.

7. How long can bags be stored?

Cement has a limited shelf life and absorbs moisture from the air even in a sealed bag. Use stock within a few weeks, keep bags off the floor on a plinth, away from external walls and under cover. Hard lumps that will not crumble mean moisture has already got in.

Professional tips

Use stock within a few weeks of delivery and rotate it properly. Cement is not an item to buy far in advance, because storage time works against it even under good conditions.
