Question 1

Can I order this in project quantities with a GST invoice?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Bulk hardware goes through RFQ, where you send the article codes and quantities and get a rate against the full list. GST invoicing is issued on every order, and contractors running several sites can use mobCredit to settle on terms.

Question 2

Why does a finish look different between two deliveries?

Accepted Answer

Plated and coated finishes drift between production batches, which is invisible on its own and obvious side by side. Ordering the whole requirement in one go against one code is the only reliable way to keep a run looking consistent under a cabinet light.

Question 3

Will this fit my cabinet?

Accepted Answer

The stated size refers to the module the fitting is designed for, not the clear internal opening. Once carcass sides are deducted the true opening is smaller. Measure inside your carcass and check that figure against the fitting requirement before ordering rather than discovering the gap on site.

Question 4

Does the listing include mounting hardware and fixings?

Accepted Answer

The listing covers the fitting itself against its article code and stated pack unit. Where fixings are not separately listed, check the carton contents against your carpenter's requirement before he starts. Fixings are cheap; a fitter standing idle waiting for them is not.

Question 5

How much weight will it carry?

Accepted Answer

Where the source listing states a load rating, that figure is for the fitting and not for the box or shelf attached to it, so deduct that weight first. Where no rating is stated, treat it as general storage duty rather than assuming it will take a concentrated load.

Question 6

Can I mix this with another brand of hardware?

Accepted Answer

Not within a single assembly, where both halves must be the same model. Across separate units you can, but different makes differ slightly in thickness and geometry, which shifts a front sideways a millimetre or two and shows up as an uneven reveal.

Question 7

Who should fit this - can a homeowner manage it?

Accepted Answer

A carpenter usually does, because the accuracy is in the marking rather than the fixing. Parts have to sit level and parallel; a couple of millimetres out and the assembly binds or sits crooked. Replacing like for like in an existing cabinet suits a careful DIY fitter.
