The red-brick mason says AAC is fragile. The architect says AAC is lighter and faster. The dealer shows you a brick for ₹X and a block for several times that amount. Everyone is comparing a different thing — which is why the conversation becomes confusing.

The fair comparison is one square metre of finished wall: how many units, how much joint material, how much labour, what wall thickness, what plaster/finish, what dead load, what fixing detail and how much site breakage. Once you compare the system rather than one piece, the decision becomes much clearer.

First Question: Is This a Load-Bearing Wall or Infill in an RCC Frame?

Do not start with price. Start with the structural system. In an RCC-framed building, columns and beams carry the main structural loads and masonry often acts as infill/partition subject to the engineer's design and detailing.
