We've Signed a ₹30 Cr Term Sheet to Scale Construction Commerce Across India
We're excited to share that we've signed a term sheet to raise ₹30 Cr (approximately $3.5 Mn) in a funding round led by an institutional investor.
The round is expected to value us at a post-money valuation of ₹180 Cr, with continued participation from our existing investors. We're proud to count Hindware, a major building materials company, among our strategic backers.
We plan to deploy this fresh capital across three major areas , geographic expansion, technology development, and strengthening our credit-led construction procurement ecosystem.
Building a Faster Way to Buy Construction Materials
We started Mad Over Buildings (MOB) in 2021 with a simple goal: build a technology-led marketplace for construction, building and interior materials.
We built our platform for architects, contractors, builders, developers, interior professionals, businesses and homeowners- people who often have to procure materials from multiple dealers, negotiate prices, arrange transportation and manage credit separately.
We're working to bring all of that together through a single procurement platform that covers product discovery, quotation, ordering, financing, and fulfilment.
Our customers can procure materials across categories such as Cement, Plumbing, Electricals, plywood and boards, Sanitaryware, Hardware, Adhesives, Waterproofing, building materials and interior products.
1–4 Hour Delivery for Construction Materials
One of our key focus areas is reducing the long and unpredictable delivery cycles traditionally associated with construction material procurement.
We started by offering same-day delivery for online and app-based purchases, and we've since moved towards 1–4 hour fulfilment for eligible products and serviceable locations.
For larger project requirements, we follow a just-in-time procurement and delivery model, helping our customers schedule materials closer to when they're actually required at the project site.
We know this matters ,delays in even relatively small products can hold up plumbers, electricians, carpenters, contractors and other teams working on site.
MOB Credit: Embedded Financing at the Point of Purchase
We understand that construction procurement is heavily dependent on credit. Contractors and businesses frequently need to purchase materials before receiving payments for completed project milestones.
Instead of leaving our customers dependent entirely on traditional dealer credit, we've integrated financing directly into the procurement journey through MOB Credit.
Eligible architects, contractors and businesses can access an embedded line of credit at the point of purchase, with financing underwritten by Muthoot Finance.
By combining procurement and financing within the same platform, we're aiming to make working-capital access simpler while helping our customers keep their projects moving.
mobSTAR: Rewards for Construction Procurement
We've also built mobSTAR, our loyalty and rewards programme for customers purchasing construction and interior materials through our platform.
The programme lets eligible customers earn mobSTAR points on purchases and receive benefits based on their loyalty tier.
For the contractors and professionals who procure materials repeatedly throughout the year, we designed this programme to make recurring purchases more rewarding — and to build a long-term procurement relationship with us.
RFQ for Large and Complex Requirements
We know not every construction purchase works like traditional e-commerce.
A contractor may require dozens or hundreds of products across different brands, specifications, quantities and categories. Large projects may also require negotiated pricing instead of a standard online price.
That's why we built an RFQ (Request for Quotation) system through which our customers can submit larger or customised material requirements and receive quotations.
Our RFQ workflow is particularly suited to bulk purchases, BOQs, project requirements and products where specifications or commercial terms need to be confirmed before ordering.
This lets us support both quick e-commerce purchases and larger project procurement through the same ecosystem.
Technology-Led Procurement
Technology remains a major focus area for us.
We're working towards solving one of the biggest problems in construction procurement: finding the exact material specified by an architect, contractor, plumber, electrician or project team.
Construction products can have thousands of variations based on brand, model number, size, material, thickness, pressure rating, colour, finish and other technical specifications — and a seemingly small difference can result in the wrong product reaching the site.
That's why we're developing our technology stack around improving product discovery, structured cataloguing, quotation workflows and procurement automation, with the goal of reducing manual effort and errors during material purchasing.
An Asset-Light "Shadow-Hub" Fulfilment Model
Rather than building a large network of capital-intensive dark stores, we follow what we call a "shadow-hub" model.
Under this model, we turn existing warehouses and inventory networks of our brand and supply partners into fulfilment nodes.
This approach lets us expand product availability and fulfil orders without having to own large amounts of inventory or build extensive warehousing infrastructure in every market.
We've designed this model to combine the convenience and speed of quick commerce with an asset-light supply-chain structure built specifically for construction materials.
"The construction supply chain is fragmented, credit-starved and slow. MOB collapses procurement, delivery and financing into one rail without the dark-store cost structure that makes this category hard to scale," says our founder, Kumar Vivek.
Bengaluru, Mumbai Today — Delhi Next
We're currently operational in Bengaluru and Mumbai, and we plan to enter Delhi following this fundraise.
We're planning to expand to more than 12 cities over the next six to nine months, using our asset-light fulfilment model to enter new markets without replicating a warehouse-heavy infrastructure in every city.
We believe the combination of local supply networks, technology and embedded credit will form the foundation of our expansion strategy.
More Than 750 Active Clients
We currently serve more than 750 active clients, including architects, contractors and project owners.
We reported ₹8 Cr in revenue in FY26, and we're now at an annual recurring revenue (ARR) of ₹24 Cr.
We operate in India's building-products market, which we see growing from approximately $90 Bn currently to around $150 Bn by 2028.
Why We Believe Construction Commerce Is the Next Big Opportunity
We've watched quick commerce in India develop around groceries and everyday consumer products, with the expectation of faster fulfilment now moving into larger and more complex categories.
We think construction materials present a significantly different challenge.
Orders can be bulky, product specifications are highly technical, procurement is frequently credit-driven, prices can depend on quantities and location, and our professional buyers may need hundreds of different SKUs for a single project.
That's why we don't think simply applying the grocery dark-store model to construction is enough.
Our strategy is to build specifically around these characteristics through a combination of:
- 1–4 hour delivery for eligible construction and interior products
- Just-in-time fulfilment for larger requirements
- MOB Credit for embedded construction procurement financing
- mobSTAR loyalty and rewards
- RFQ based procurement for bulk and customised requirements
- Technology-led product discovery and quotation
- Asset-light shadow-hub fulfilment
- A multi-category marketplace for construction and interior materials
We're seeing investor interest in construction commerce grow too, with multiple startups attempting to digitise India's fragmented building-material supply chain.
But for us, the opportunity goes beyond simply delivering construction materials faster.
Building the Procurement Infrastructure for Construction
We see construction procurement as still fragmented between manufacturers, distributors, dealers, logistics providers, lenders and buyers. A single project may require a contractor to coordinate with several suppliers while separately managing quotations, payments, credit and deliveries.
We're working to bring these layers together.
Our broader objective is to build a technology-driven procurement ecosystem where our customers can discover the right construction product, obtain competitive quotations, access credit, place an order, earn rewards and receive materials quickly — all through one platform.
With this proposed ₹30 Cr funding round, we plan to accelerate this model beyond Bengaluru, beginning with Mumbai and subsequently expanding across additional Indian cities.
As India's construction and building-products market continues to digitise, we're positioning ourselves not simply as another construction e-commerce marketplace, but as an integrated commerce, credit and fulfilment platform for the construction industry.

What is MOBCredit? MOBCredit is our embedded trade credit offering for eligible buyers. It helps approved architects, contractors and businesses procure construction materials using an approved credit limit, subject to eligibility, sanctioned limits and applicable financing terms.
Who can use MOBCredit? MOBCredit is available to eligible and approved customer accounts. Credit availability, sanctioned limits, activation and repayment terms depend on the buyer's eligibility and applicable financing terms.
What is MOB Star? MOB Star is our loyalty and rewards programme. We designed it to provide additional value to eligible customers who repeatedly purchase construction and interior materials through us.
What is just-in-time construction material delivery? For larger project requirements, we support just-in-time procurement and delivery, where materials can be scheduled closer to when they're actually required at the project site. This can help reduce unnecessary storage, repeated material handling and the risk of material damage.
Can you place bulk construction material orders with us? Yes. We support bulk and project-based construction material procurement. For larger quantities or requirements involving multiple categories, you can use our RFQ system to confirm products, specifications, quantities, pricing, availability and delivery terms.
Can you deliver directly to a construction site? We facilitate delivery to eligible construction sites and project locations. Final serviceability and delivery timelines depend on the product, quantity, location, vehicle accessibility, unloading requirements and other site-specific conditions.
What can affect our delivery timeline? Delivery time can be affected by product availability, quantity, delivery pin code, distance from our fulfilment point, traffic, vehicle requirements, unloading arrangements, site or society entry restrictions and multi-vendor fulfilment requirements.
How are we different from a traditional building material dealer? We're building a technology-led construction procurement ecosystem rather than operating only as a traditional material dealer. Our platform combines product discovery, online ordering, RFQ-based procurement, fast delivery, MOBCredit, MOB Star and project-oriented fulfilment within one ecosystem.
How are we different from grocery-style quick commerce? Construction procurement is more complex than grocery delivery because products can be bulky, technically specific, high-value and credit-driven. We combine fast delivery for eligible products with RFQ, embedded credit, just-in-time procurement and an asset-light fulfilment network designed specifically around construction material purchasing.
What is our shadow-hub model? Our shadow-hub model is an asset-light fulfilment approach that uses existing warehouses and supply networks of our brand and partner companies as fulfilment nodes, instead of depending entirely on dedicated dark stores and owned warehouses.
Who can purchase construction materials from us? We serve architects, contractors, builders, developers, interior professionals, project owners, businesses and homeowners looking to procure construction and interior materials.
Which cities do we operate in? We're currently operational in Bengaluru and Mumbai, following our proposed funding round, with further expansion into additional Indian cities planned.
What should you check before ordering construction materials from us? Before ordering, confirm the brand, product type, model number, size, grade, material, quantity, unit and technical specifications required for your project. For technical products, we recommend verifying the selected item with your architect, contractor, plumber, electrician or relevant site professional before confirming the purchase.
Why are we building an integrated construction procurement platform? Construction procurement is traditionally fragmented across dealers, manufacturers, logistics providers, quotations and credit providers. We're working to bring these activities together so our customers can discover products, request quotations, purchase materials, access eligible credit, earn loyalty benefits and coordinate fulfilment through a single construction commerce ecosystem.
